Ekapeli Maahanmuuttaja (MOD) 2.2.1

Ekapeli Maahanmuattaja is a learning environment especially intended for practicing the basic Finnish language skills of immigrant children. The contents of the game are customized according to the language of the player, and they emphasize the sounds that are typically difficult for children who speak Finnish, the differences in the duration of the sounds, and also the vowel combinations during the reading of the words.

For many immigrants, the Nordic alphabets Ä and Ö, the vowel Y, several vowel combinations within a syllable and the difference in duration between vowels and consonants cause problems. These points are practiced with emphasis in all the contents of Ekapeli Maahanmuattja. In addition, each language version has included more exercises for the sounds, syllables and words whose learning causes problems for children from that particular language group. Custom language content is selected for each player when creating the player.

The game includes content for the following languages: Russian, English, Arabic, Kurdish, Chinese, Somali, Estonian.

For Finnish-speaking children, Ekapeli Alku is the more recommended game version.
